Arscott Golf Club putting the fun back into golf

Arscott Golf Club is situated just 4 miles from Shrewsbury where the Shropshire Plain gives way to the South Shropshire Hills. The topography, therefore, is very interesting and varied, with gentle hills and undulating fairways without being too challenging on the legs. There are pools, large and small formed by the marlpits left by the brickmakers.

The clubhouse and course has won many awards for building design and sensitive environmental approach. The course is now 6232 yards off the white tees with every hole a memorable one. The bar and balcony offer a superb setting overlooking the 18th green with the pools and Pontesford Hill for a backdrop. The clubhouse is open 7 days a week and golfing societies are welcome as well as any function be it large or small, business or social. Our resident professional, Glyn Sadd has a fully stocked golf shop and is always ready to give one to one or group tuition. So Whatever your Age, Abililty or Budget, Arscott has something to offer everyone.

Arscott Golf Club has a very active membership with competitions and events being held throughout the year.

The Men’s Section has a sound membership base of approximately 450 and welcomes new members, experienced golfers and golfers new to the game.

Whilst social golf is actively encouraged, each month throughout the year the section holds regular club competitions including at least two qualifying competitions (weather dependent) utilising both Saturday and Sunday of alternate weekends, enabling all members to compete in Stableford and Medal competitions.

Ever popular is the Wednesday Club Night and the Sunday morning Pound in the Pot.  Just turn up and play. Throughout both the summer and winter seasons there are Matchplay competitions for both singles and doubles and during the winter there is an Eclectic competition.

Arscott Mens Teams play in various county and national competitions including the County Scratch and Handicap leagues; the Hargrove Trophy and the Daily Mail / Mail on Sunday competition series. A number of friendly matches are also played against other county clubs and beyond

The Club  has a thriving Ladies Section  that prides itself on being friendly and welcoming to all standards of players. Ladies Day is Tuesdays, the alternative day for medals is Saturday. On Saturdays there are reserved tee times for competitions. There are regular competitions throughout the year. League and friendly matches against local clubs give the opportunity for golfers of all standards to play  and socialise with fellow golfers throughout the County. The Section puts forward teams for the Daily Mail Foursomes, Mail on Sunday  Match Play and County  Competitions. New members and visitors are always welcome.

The Club holds several social events throughout the year and these have included prize givings, golfing holidays, Captains Away Days. Several fun competitions take place and mixed events are organised.

The Golf Network

*FREE Golf at other Clubs for Members.  27 Golf Clubs join forces to boost the benefit of Golf Club Membership

The Golf Club Network and MPS Quality Golf have agreed to unite to form one of the UK’s largest reciprocal play networks, spanning from Kent to Bristol and throughout the Midlands, with the aim of enhancing members’ golfing experience.

The principal benefit for members of any of the participating clubs is that they are able to play FREE golf from Monday to Friday at any of The Golf Club Network and enjoy reduced fees payable at weekends.

The Golf Club Network gives both golf clubs and members the opportunity to take advantage of being part of a growing network of clubs across the South of England and the interest from new clubs to join The Golf Club Network continues to grow giving members an increasingly wide variety of enjoyable courses to choose from as a direct benefit of their membership of a Golf Club.
If you are a Full Member (5, or 7 day) of Arscott Golf Club you qualify to be a member of The Golf Network.  The Golf Network is a reciprocal arrangement between golf clubs, which affords members of those participating clubs the opportunity to play golf at the participating clubs on a courtesy basis Monday - Friday.   If members wish to play at other Network Clubs at a weekend or a bank holiday then the appropriate Members Guest Rate will be charged.

Members that wish to play at other network clubs may contact The Secretary's Office to obtain their Golf Network membership card. Members will need to supply a passport size photograph and pay a small administration fee of 10.00

More details of all the participating clubs, their locations and the playing rules are available on the Golf Club Network’s website
