- Dress
Standard of dress for playing on the golf Course is smart casual:
- No denims or jeans of any type
- Tailored shorts only – this does not include beach shorts
- Shirts must have a collar excepting that collarless shirts designed specifically for golf may be worn
- Football / Rugby and Tee shirts are not permitted
- Shoes – golf shoes only (soft spikes preferred). No trainers
- Track suits / shell suits are not permitted
Standard of dress worn in the Clubhouse is to be smart casual:
- Hats and caps must not be worn
- Football / Rugby and Tee shirts are not permitted

- Golf shoes are not permitted
- Smart denim jeans are permitted
- Clubhouse
Members and visitors using the Clubhouse and surrounds are asked to consider other users at all times and not to put themselves or others at risk by their conduct. The Clubhouse area is frequented by all age groups and it is important to be mindful not to cause offence by improper utterances or bad language and refrain from any form of personal harassment of any fellow member, employee of the club or visitor.
- Guests
One guest may be introduced by a Club Member at a reduced rate on any one day. Members are not permitted to introduce the same guest more than 5 times per year without the permission of the Board or the Professional. Members will be responsible for the conduct of their guest and ensure the green fee is paid before commencement of play.
- Tee Time Availability
Members can only book 14 days in advance.
- Courtesy on the Course
Consideration for other players. As a matter of courtesy players should play without delay. No player should play until the players in front are out of range. Players searching for a ball should signal the players behind them to pass as soon as it becomes apparent that the ball will not be easily found. They should not continue play until the players following them have passed and are out of range. When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green.
If your ball is heading in a direction where there is a danger of it hitting someone, shout a warning immediately. The traditional word of warning is “fore!”.
Behaviour during play. No one should move, talk or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke. Ready Golf is encouraged. If you are ready and it is safe to do so, PLAY!
- Priority on the Course
Official competition play has priority over casual play at all times.
In the absence of special rules, two-ball matches should have precedence over and be entitled to pass any three or four-ball match.
A single player has no standing and should give way to a match of any kind.
Any match playcing a whole round is entitled to pass a match playing a shorter round.
If a match fails to keep its place on the Course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in front, it should allow the match following to pass.
- Care of the Course
Ball in bunkers. Before leaving a bunker, players are to carefully smooth over all marks and footprints made by him/her.
Divots and pitchmarks. Players are to ensure that any turf cut or displaced (divots) by him/her is replaced immediately and firmly pressed down. Any damage to the putting green made by the ball (pitchmarks) is to be carefully repaired.
Damage to greens. Players are to ensure that, when putting down the flag stick, no damage is done to the putting green and that neither they nor the caddies damage the hole by standing close to it, in handling the flag stick or in removing the ball from the hole.
The flag stick should not be used to eject the ball from the hole.
Players are not to damage the putting green by leaning on their putter, particularly when removing the ball from the hole. Bags/Trolleys are never to be taken or placed on the greens.
Golf Trolleys. Notices regulating the use of golf trolleys/carts are to be strictly observed. Golf trolleys/carts are not to be taken on to greens or tees.
Practice Swings. when taking practice swings, players are to avoid causing damage to the Course, particularly the tees.
- Golf Ball Retrieval
Members are reminded that they are not allowed to retrieve golf balls from local landowners’ property outside the perimeter of the golf Course and must not, under any circumstances, go on any adjoining land or property.
- Rules
It is the duty of every Member to know and comply with the Rules of Golf and the Club and to be aware of any local rules, that are from time to time in force, before commencement of play.
Disputes and complaints that arise from or during competitions/matches will initially be dealt with by the appropriate Section Committee Secretary. All cases are to be reported, in writing, to the appropriate Section Committee Secretary no later than 7 days after the incident which is the subject of the complaint.
The member will be notified in writing or email of the complaint against him and given 7 days notice to respond. In the event that the complaint is challenged, the matter will be fully investigated. Having considered all the facts, the Committee will decide whether or not to uphold the complaint. If the complaint is upheld the Committee will decide what sanction is appropriate.
The disciplinary action that may be taken by the Section Committee against an offender after full investigation is restricted to:
• An official warning,
• Suspension/Disqualification from Competitions or Club Teams
• Temporary suspension of handicap,
• Referral to the Board sub-committee via the Club Secretary without delay.
The member will be informed of the Committee’s decision in writing or email within 7 days.
The member may appeal the decision in writing or email to the Club Secretary within 14 days of receipt of the decision.
The Section Committee will then refer the appeal to the Disciplinary Appeals Committee (Board).
The Disciplinary Appeals Committee must meet within 7 days of receipt of the appeal. Its deliberations will include consideration of all the facts already presented, any new evidence that may be relevant and may include the calling of witnesses.
The Disciplinary Appeals Committee must present its findings in writing to the Committee within 7 days of reaching their decision. The decision of the Disciplinary Appeals Committee will be final.
- Club Property
The Golf Course, Equipment, Club House, Buildings and Property belong to Arscott Golf Club Limited and no Club Member shall take away, or be permitted to take away, any such property without the Board’s approval.
- Social/Golf Activities
Any funds raised through Club Member run events will belong to the Members and applied by them for the benefit of the Club.
